USATODAY.com - Man solves Rubik's Cube in 11.13 seconds

Sorry SuperMark - your 60 second solve looks so... plebian now.
For his victory, Makisumi won a Rubik's Snake puzzle, one of several variations on the basic cube model which has sold more than 100 million worldwide, according to the manufacturer.

60 seconds? I wish. I was never that good. At my junior high peak I think I got it down to 75 seconds once.

Minh Thai won the original international cube-off on That's Incredible with a time of 23 seconds, but that was a relatively long time for everyone involved; the pressure upped the solving time considerably. All of the people who made it to the nationals had anecdotally managed times in the 10-to-15 second range; it was just a question of managing to do it on record. Glad someone finally did. :)
