Couple of interesting links. A client on the phone today, gnashing her teeth about the overly PC nature of America, sent a link to a Vonnegut short story.
Harrison something-or-other. Very quick read, and even more scathing today than when first published over 40 years ago. (!)

Then an nice snarky quote from a Slate reader, continuing the LeGuin thread.
It reminded me of my favorite critical slam against a movie: "The Scarlet Letter is 'freely adapted' from Hawthorne's novel in the same sense that methane is freely adapted from cows."

Heh.
