With regards to the angst & pathos from earlier posts: well, it's still there, just not in the posts. I've still got this whole uncertainty re: the future of my relationship/entire life hanging over my head. Let me tell you: if anyone ever offers you the choice of uncertainty re: the future of your relationship/entire life and CERTAINTY re: the same... well, suffice it to say that I don't drink the UNcola.

Anyhoo: flipping channels. Need to tell J about Dog the Bounty Hunter on A&E.
HilARious. www.dogthebountyhunter.com
(in sorta a campy, but mulletful, way.)
1st view: Cheney is an asshole. There is no real surprise there; he's been an asshole for some time.
2nd point: Sen Edwards broke into one homily. (so far.) Cheney responded with a SAVAGE attack on John Edwards. Personally. I didn't feel the heat, as I did with Zell... but I *did* think (as McCain said on the Daily Show) that Kerry/Edwards must have done kilt Cheney's dog.
3rd point: the Israel question was a mistake, and allowed them to go on the ATTACK.
Fascinating, so far.

I have fallen out of the habit of putting my thoughts out there, available for anyone to see. It's been really since college (almost 10 years ago) that i was in that habit. But, as it stands, my life has reentered one of those downward swings.
A. and I have entered what could be the final days of this phase of our relationship (almost 9 years, now.) So, you (hypothetical) guys may be seeing a lot more of me, in my spare time. If you notice that i seem to issue a few caveats and parentheticals... well, that just makes you observant.
So as not to be COMPLETELY depressing, I will try to include a cool site, funky link, or something along those lines in this, my newly reformed /finger file. It should try to be topical if at all possible. As I have recently (past six months) accidentially fallen back into the Dangerous World of Dungeons and Dragons (Tm), I'll hook you up with a cute webcomic FULL of geeky references.

The last one was a little depressing. I'll update you with a posting from one of my all time favorite posts, The Urban Legend Reference Page at www.snopes.com . I can't begin to count the hours i wasted, punching the Randomizer......

Looked up the name of the John D. McDonald book not to read. It's 'The Last One Left'. I would give you the Amazon link to it, but i really don't think that is a good idea.
A question or two about Jennifer Nettles has arisen. Former female half of the lead singers for 'Soul Miner's Daughter', for the past few years now she's been doing her own thing, with the Jennifer Nettles Band. http://www.jennifernettles.com/ Soulful music, very well done.. i LOVE it!

First update of my online diary of sorts.
Music recently (re?)discovered: Ani DiFranco. Some of her stuff is angrier than others, and still others makes me pretty sure that i would get beat up if i ended up at a concert of hers. However, that is neither here nor there. Thank God for MP3's... friend had over seven hours i could listen to at work. She's very reminescent of Jennifer Nettles to me...
I think that one of the nicest surprises that can happen is to find an artist (whether musical, author, whatever) with a large existing body of work that you really dig. That way you don't have to worry about waiting for months/years for just... one.... more.... book. Or song. Or whatever.
Another example of this for me recently was Lois McMaster Bujold. Roommate (J) ended up already having all 10 of the VorKosigan series, an EXCELLENTLY written, page-turnin, can't-put-it-down, who-cares-that-it's-3:30-in-the-morning series of books. I was just looking for some way to kill a few hours, so I was raiding the upstairs library... little did i know that my reading for the next few WEEKS would be taken care of! (Sadly, however, NOW i'm like, "C'mon... another MONTH for just... one.... more.... ?"
Speaking of books, and authors: last night finished one of the worst books that i have ever read. Filled with violent & nasty people, a lost girl, strange & exotic locations: i will never again read 'The Wizard of Oz', I promise you that! (just kidding.) The actual name of the book was "...something" (not helpful, i know...) It was by John D. McDonald (who i normally like a LOT) , but NOT one of his Travis McGee's... shame. No more John D. for me, I fear.
That's all for now.
